Atlanta's Gospel Choice Awards Honors One of its Own Canton Jones

(Atlanta, GA) – Gospel music sensation, Canton Jones, recently walked away with his third Gospel Choice Award at the 13th annual Gospel Choice Awards ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia on September 17, 2007. The ceremony, which took place at the Georgia International Convention Center, was created to recognize the achievements of gospel music artists from the metro Atlanta area.

Jones, who is gearing up for the release of his new album, Kingdom Business (Arrow Records) in February, was excited about the two Gospel Choice Awards nominations he received for this year’s awards, and even more pleased when he walked away with the award for Best Holy Hip-Hop Artist. He was also nominated in the Best Male Artist category.

Jones, who is based in Atlanta, is a rising star on the gospel music scene. His uncompromising approach to spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ through music has garnered him many accolades. In addition to his three Gospel Choice Awards, Jones has received two Grammy nominations, and a Stellar Award nomination.

Canton Jones is not only an up and coming artist; he represents a philosophy, a movement, and a generation of Believers who are relentless in their pursuit to bridge the gap between the church and the streets.

Now you will find him and his band touring the country, leading people in worship with songs like, “I Can Do” and “Unbelievable.” He always emphasizes the message, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13). He believes that no matter how big your problems are, no matter what your circumstances may be, always know that you can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you. “Our goal is to lead people into the very presence of God through music and worship so that we all, regardless of the circumstance, may overcome any obstacle that may come our way.” —Jonathan Phillips
